Blanca Rosa Rasmussen

Blanca Rosa, a versatile Spanish/Danish artist born in Beijing in 1994, holds a BFA from the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing and a foundation in Fine Arts from the Leith School of Art in Edinburgh. Her cross-cultural background infuses her work with a unique perspective, leading her to create captivating and enigmatic paintings. These often explore themes of femininity and the complexities of human relationships, with a subject matter and compositions that carry a surreal or dreamlike quality.

 

Blanca Rosa skillfully manipulates materials to produce artworks featuring intricate and profound imagery, drawing from her diverse experiences across various countries and cultures. She delves into themes of childhood and adolescence, both personal and universal, as well as the complexities and challenges of those formative years. Employing surrealism and magic realism, she crafts a world that is both enchanting and obscure.

 

Currently based in Hong Kong, Blanca Rosa continues to explore and evolve within her practice, creating dynamic paintings that delve into these thematic elements and explore the realm of dreams.
