Art Exhibition
An exhibition with a conscience 100% of profits go to charity
Organised by Children of the Mekong, with the aim of raising awareness and funds for their education programs in the Philippines, this exhibition brings along 40 artists, coming from different parts of the world, united by a personal drive and a strong commitment to making a difference in the lives of underprivileged children.
All artists and partner art galleries generously donate their artworks.
100% proceeds from the sale of these works of art will be used to fund Children of the Mekong's activities in Southeast Asia, particularly 2 programs in the Philippines.
Children of the Mekong
Established in 1958, Children of the Mekong is a French NGO which was granted the French Republic's Human Rights Award in 1990. The charity helps children gain access to education, by offering individual or collective sponsorships and building schools and foster homes in South-East Asia.

More than 23,000 children are sponsored by Children of the Mekong, and over 70,000 children are benefiting from our education programs and projects across 6 countries: Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, the Philippines, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

Children of the Mekong Hong Kong was created in 2003. It is a tax-exempt NGO, helping children in Asia to receive the education every child deserves. Managed by volunteers passionate about making a difference in the lives of underprivileged children, the Hong Kong branch is very active, organizing awareness campaigns and fundraising.

Examples of projects financed
Batang Mekong - Day care Cebu, Philippines
The Batang Mekong Daycare Program was created in 2001.
For more than 20 years, Batang (Children in Visaya) Mekong has been working in the Inayawan garbage dump area (and by extension in the San Pio resettlement area in Talisay City) where a majority of the inhabitants still work as ragpickers, sorting waste in the storage warehouses that dot the area.

The Batang Mekong project consists of several complementary initiatives, all of which aim to lift the community up:

The 9 nurseries which accommodate around 106 children from 1 to 6 years old from Monday to Friday. All children receive 1 meal per day (sometimes the only one) and medications, if need be, a Montessori pedagogy instead of wandering in the shantytown, and a place where they receive care, love, security.

The training for parents, whether it be professional training or more educational and spiritual training. 14 moms were trained as Child development workers.

Student Center
Cebu, Philippines

The Children of the Mekong Students Centre in Cebu City was created in 1998, it is the oldest and largest student residence in the Philippines.
​
50 students coming from extremely poor families (monthly revenue lower than HKD 500) are supported every year.
At university, they study a variety of different topics such as engineering, finance, accounting, human resources, psychology, social studies, education and more.
Our goal is to provide accommodation to university students, additional tutorial, professional life training, to help them find a job.
