Angélique Lombard-Latune

Born into a family of artists and graduated from ENSAAMA (Olivier de Serres), Angélique Lombard-Latune trained in graphic design. Over twenty years, she worked as a graphic & web designer but changed path In 2006, by studying at the Beaux-Arts in Paris to devote herself to painting.

Fascinated by the marine world, with its silvery currents, turquoise lagoons, white sandbanks, waves, and rocks, her painting flourishes at the boundary between figuration and abstraction. She plays with texture, setting liquid against solid, matte against glossy, in a dance of contrasting yet harmonious elements inspired by many sources.

Angélique regularly exhibits her paintings in Paris, throughout France, and at the Fine Art Gallery in London.

"Murex" Artworks

The Artworks exhibited are a dedicate to the beauty of seas, oceans, and the seabed. The usage of the turquoise blue Murex pigment is particularly prized for its vibrant and unique colour, that offers a distinct hue reminiscent of the sea's nuances. (The turquoise blue Murex pigment from Essaouira, Morocco, comes from the murex shell).

As a painter, Angélique choses to work with natural materials such as resin, lime, sand, and mica to create paintings that evoke the richness and diversity of marine ecosystems.

“I would like each canvas to be a window onto a marine universe where water and light meet, raising awareness of the preciousness and beauty of the oceans that we all witness.”

Artworks available at Art Accross Boundaries exhibition.
